Melbourne's Custom Trailer Manufacturer, Built Around Your Job

Flatbed, box, plant, tradie, camper or something one-off — Mountain Chassis builds it in Campbellfield, to the load and the job, not a standard size on a production line.

Australian steel. AS/NZS welds. A trailer that does exactly what you need it to, for tradies, businesses and private buyers across Melbourne and Victoria.

A Trailer That Fits the Work You Actually Do

If you’re hauling gear, stock, plant or a camper setup, a standard trailer rarely fits the job exactly. Mountain Chassis is a Campbellfield-based trailer manufacturer building flatbed, box, plant, tradie, camper and purpose-built trailers for tradies, businesses, caravan manufacturers and private buyers across Melbourne and Victoria.

Every build starts the same way: we find out what you’re carrying, how often, and in what conditions. From there we spec the trailer to that job.

Who We Build For

Not Sure Which Configuration You Need?

Trailer Types We Specialise In

Flat Bed Trailers

Open deck, no roof, no walls. Built for machinery, equipment or oversized loads that won’t fit inside a box trailer.

Box Trailers

Fully enclosed and weatherproof. Keeps tools, stock or goods dry and out of sight in transit.

Plant Trailers

Rated and built for the specific plant equipment it’s carrying, not a generic load rating. Heavy-duty deck construction for excavators, skid steers and bobcats

Tradie Trailers

Set up around a working day — the gear, the materials, the way you actually load and unload it.

Camper Trailers

A purpose-built base for a camping or touring setup, configured to what you’re fitting on it

Off-road suspension and articulating couplings where the application calls for it

Purpose-Built / Custom Trailers

Doesn’t fit the categories above? If you can think it, we can build it. Tell us the application and we’ll engineer it.

Finish Options

How a trailer is finished affects how long it lasts in the conditions it’s actually used in. We offer a full range of finishes, matched to your application:
Close-up of MIG welding sparks and smoke during steel chassis fabrication.
Assembled off-road caravan chassis with dual axle and off-road tyres, built by Mountain Chassis, Melbourne.

Precision and Compliance You Can Verify

Every caravan chassis we build is fabricated with the relevant Australian Design Rules in mind, most importantly ADR 62, which governs the strength and design of the mechanical connection between a tow vehicle and a trailer, including drawbars, couplings and safety chains. Where a build needs its own engineering certification — custom configurations, oversized loads, or modified components — we work with qualified engineers to get that documentation sorted for compliance and registration before your chassis leaves the workshop.
